This film tells the heart wrenching tale of two brothers from Huntington William and Jesse Platt, who served in different NYS Regiments from Long Island. |

Watercolor wORKSHOP

Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 6:00 - 8:30 PM Conklin Barn 2 High Street, Huntington, NY $30 for Members; $35 for Non-Members This introductory class focuses on learning basic watercolor brush techniques. We will cover flat wash, gradient wash, wet on wet, dry brush, glazing, wax resist, stamping, rubbing alcohol. Also covered in this course are the characteristics of watercolor transparent paint, color mixing, basic brushstrokes, painting techniques and differences in watercolor paper. Students will also learn about the artist Georgia O'Keeffe and her abstract flowers. Students will create a finished painting to emulate Georgia O'Keeffe's style. |

Intermediate Pet Watercolor Workshop

Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 6:00 - 8:30 PM Conklin Barn 2 High Street, Huntington, NY $30 for Members; $35 for Non-Members This intermediate class focuses on reviewing basic watercolor brush techniques and differences in watercolor paper. Students will create a finished colorful fun pet portrait. Come to class with watercolor paper 140 pd pad, brushes and watercolor paint of your choice. We will paint from a photograph. Please send me your pet photo so I can have it printed out for the class: lsalta@verizon.net, or bring a clear color print out of your pet. Otherwise you will be painting a pet from one of my printouts. |
