Performance Schedule April 7: The Vince Scuderi Quartet: Vince has been a featured performer with Connie James at The Metropolitan Room and Debra Holly at Danny’s Skylight Room. HIs quartet, AuPrivave enjoyed a 10+ year residency at Cooking with Jazz. He has also played for a variety of ensembles in NYC and pit orchestras across Long Island. Peak experiences include improvising with Bertha Hope and Don Byron, among other jazz luminaries. April 14: Lewis Porter: Pianist, keyboardist, composer, and educator, Lewis received a Grammy nomination in 1995. He has performed across the USA and Europe with Joe Lovano, Wycliffe Gordon, Ravi Coltrane, Ribot, and many others. As a jazz historian, you might have caught him in the acclaimed documentary "Chasing Trane". Lewis will perform solo piano and lead a conversation about what this thing is that we call "Jazz". April 21: Sara Cion and Steps Behind Sarah has performed with young and older jazz legends such as Clark Terry, Etta Jones, Anita O’Day, Della Griffin, Ralph Lalama, Bucky Pizzarelli, Don Braden, and many others. She is often found performing with New York City's mainstay big bands, such as the Lew Anderson Big Band at Birdland. April 28: Everton Bailey and ISOP A British Jamaican and Hempstead resident, is the founder of Trumpet Academy in Hempstead and ISOP (Instrumental Sound of Praise). Bailey has been featured in numerous stage plays and movies, like Cadillac Records and The Inside Man, in addition to such TV shows as The Good Wife and 30 Rock. His unique trumpet sounds are comparable to the likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. |
