A Visit to Colonial Huntington
The Conklin House and Barn Program
For Grades 1-5

Designed to reinforce New York State’s Social Studies curriculum for grades 1 to 5 and BOCES-approved, this two-hour program is provided by costumed educators and features a guided tour of the authentically restored c.1750 Conklin House, home to a colonial-era farming family.

In addition, educators provide an interactive slide presentation to orient students to life on colonial Long Island, and discuss the process of transforming flax into linen.  Students will stencil designs, write with a quill pen, and have hands-on exploration time with historical artifacts.​

10:00 am -12:00 noon

FEE: $10.00 per student. MINIMUM 12 STUDENTS, MAXIMUM 50 STUDENTS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED PER SESSION.
