Does your
child love history?
Would your child like to make a part of history come alive?
The Huntington Historical Society is offering
an
eight-session, hands-on
after-school program for children ages 7 to 12.
Each
session of this hands-on program will be focused on one colonial project
such as weaving on a loom, candle dipping, authentic colonial cooking,
wooden toy construction, and visiting the newly renovated Huntington
Arsenal! Participants will be able to wear colonial costumes, play
original colonial games, and handle various artifacts that typically are
only viewed behind glass displays in museums. This program will teach
your child to truly appreciate colonial life, and by the end of the
sessions, your child will have a better understanding of Huntington
history and their heritage. The best part, it’s non-competitive and
fun! |
