Thank you Senator Carl Marcellino
The
Huntington Historical Society owes a debt of gratitude to Senator Carl
Marcellino for responding to our needs. Senator Marcellino was attending
an affair at our Daniel Kissam House and Museum, and took note of the
deteriorating condition of the exterior. It was explained that, because of
the age of the property and the need to keep the character of the property
unchanged, repairs would be very expensive and, in fact, beyond our current
financial capabilities.
The Senator suggested that we apply to his office for a grant to make the
repairs and, to make a long story short, he came through for us. Today you
can see some of the results of his grant in the freshly painted exterior of the
Kissam House on Park avenue.
The Society depends entirely on the good will of the people in the
community and friends like Senator Carl Marcellino to carry out our mission of
preserving and sharing Huntington's history. Thank you for supporting us
Senator, and thanks also to Aboff's Paint & Wallcoverings for supplying the
paint.
