Gladys Fanton;
Rachmaninoff
lived in the town next to ours. He would
drive his boat to Northport and visit at
the home of the harbormaster, Dexter
Seymour, often performing for a select
group of locals in a salon-like setting.
Miss Fanton was a friend of Mr. Seymour,
but she never had an opportunity to
visit with the great pianist during
these occasions. She often lamented that
she would have loved to have been
invited.
