Native American Day, 2008What a delightful day. Twenty five youngsters and their parents spent an interesting afternoon exploring the history and culture of our Native Americans. They learned about their traditions, skills, food, clothing and got to view authentic artifacts from our collections. They made head bands (with feathers) made pots from clay, played games that our first citizens played, and sampled foods that the Native Americans ate. They also saw a lot of foods that would have been eaten long before the white man arrived. Below you can see scenes from the day's activities.
