A Visit
To Colonial Huntington
The Conklin House and Barn Program
For Grades 1-5
This
two-hour program provided by costumed educators features a guided tour of the
colonial room of the authentically restored c.1750 Conklin House, which was
the home to a farming family at the time. A slide presentation,
which focuses on colonial Long Island life, plus an explanation
of flax (linen) preparation, is also included.
Students will stencil
designs, write with a quill pen, and explore hands-on artifacts and
activities.
This program is designed
to handle up to fifty students per booking, therefore double bookings (as long
as they are not over 50) and single class bookings can be accommodated.
