A Child’s Work and Play
The Kissam House and Barn Program
For Grades 3 -5

This three-hour program provided by a costumed educator, includes a guided tour of the 1795 Dr. Daniel Kissam House and a barn program with up to four, hands-on activity-stations.  This home belonged to a wealthy doctor and is quite a contrast from the humble home of the Conklins. An explanation of wool preparation and some folk remedies appropriate to the time will also be discussed.  Students and teachers bring their own meals for a working lunch.  As a special treat, butter making will be demonstrated and the homemade butter will be served on cornbread.

PROGRAM OFFERED:

FEE:  $9.00 per student, minimum of $126 per group (14 students).  One adult must accompany each eight students and is expected to participate.  There is no charge for adults.
